Yolvan (ヨルバ, Yoruba), also known as Caladrius (カラドリウス, Karadoriusu), is a winged Homunculus.

Lore

Yolvan was an experimental Homunculus that escaped to Old City from the Biological Research Facility in the Central Stratum. A renowned Homunculus researcher, who later fled to a destroyed land, conducted animal fusion experiments on Yolvan.

Combat Characteristics

Yolvan's abilities are classified as Pressure.

Barrage

Fires a stream of auto-aiming magic bullets for as long as the button is held. Lilac is able to move and jump while using this ability.
Yolvan's double-barreled pistol, fashioned by House Milius. As long as magic courses through him, it shall never run out of bullets.

Yolvan will appear slightly in front of Lilac and continuously shoot projectiles, aiming at the closest enemy, selected from the direction Lilac is facing.

• On first level, each projectile deals 10% damage.
• On third level, damage increases to 12%.
• On fifth level, damage increases to 14%.

Lacerate

Fires spinning blades that cut through enemies, for as long as the button is held. The blades ricochet off terrain. Lilac is able to move and jump while using this ability.
A pair of small pistols fashioned by House Milius. They can be augmented with various attachments, greatly altering their performance.

Yolvan will shoot a bladed projectile that bounces of off obstacles and pierces enemies, dealing damage to them.

• On first level, the projectile deals 60% damage.
• On third level, damage increases to 84% damage.
• On fifth level, damage increases further, to 108%.

Eviscerate

A spinning tornado that ignores the enemy's defenses and continually does break damage for as long as the button is held. Lilac is able to move and jump while using this ability.
A weapon crafted by Yolvan, motivated by his desire to aid Lilac.

Yolvan will create a drill-shaped vortex in front of Lilac, which will continuously deal damage to enemies hit.

• On first level, damage scaling for each instance is 15%.
• On third level, damage increases to 18%.
• On fifth level, damage increases to 22%.

Attuner Art: Transform

Transforms into Caladrius, setting off powerful bursts of magic in front.
Using the ways of an Attuner, Lilac can enable Yolvan to plumb the depths of his Mutant power.

This ability transforms Yolvan into Caladrius, who will swing their hand to create seven explosions in front of Lilac.

• On first level, each explosion deals 400% damage.
• On third level, damage increases to 560%.
• On fifth level, damage increases further, to 720%.

Trivia

• Yolvan's Attuner Art, which briefly transforms him into Caladrius, may be a reference to the bird of Roman mythology.
  • In legend, the caladrius was capable of determining the gravity of a person's ailment and drawing the sickness out of them.^[1]
